Google Chrome & Scott Mcloud

Google Chrome & Scott Mcloud

Google has launched a new browser, called Chrome.

Great idea - but a real risk that they'll appear to be simply chasing Microsoft (Which to a degree, I believe they are!)

But they have created a "comic" to communicate the history, the story - and it's a very compelling argument for how they're just nice guys - rather than a commercial giant, very neatly tweaking the playing field to their advantage.

It is more than a bit geeky in parts - I would have been tempted to do variants - a geeky version and a version for normal people!

And it was created by Scott McCloud - who spoke at VizThink back in February

(Intrigued to see how this works out for Firefox - who were largely, discretely funded by Google - and still are.  One persons opinion... ;o)

Add a comment:

I like Chrome… but it’s no competition for Firefox yet.  It’s almost too simple.  FF3 has so much more to offer - and most of the functionality is hidden… until you need it and it pops up!

Saying that… it’s definitely the fastest browser I’ve ever used
